Where else in the developed world can you get a delicious and healthy takeaway lunch for £2.66?
There are many critics of London and I can see why. On the surface of it London is a big, foul smelling, expensive place and the people are all rude. After being in London for a while, if you're not ignorant you'll quickly learn that those things are all largely untrue.
Central London may be daunting at first but you quickly learn that the tube isn't worth bothering with and the best mode of transport is your two feet. After you've had a decent dopiaza, kofte, pho, yum cha, katsu and salt beef beigel you realise that those are not smells but scents to be savoured. Seeing as the large majority of people that live and work in Central London are originally from somewhere else I propose the idea that it's not Londoners that are rude but everyone else. Or rather that they feel they have to be to get by in the big bad city.
Lastly I think I've proven that London isn't all that expensive by my very reasonable lunch. The rent and property values may be a bit silly but they're going to be aren't they? Property is going to be expensive in the best city in the world.
